Italy

EU travellers arriving in Italy for non-essential reasons (for example, for tourism) are subject to fiduciary isolation and health surveillance for 14 days.

Italy has ordered a nationwide lockdown over the Christmas and New Year period in an effort to combat a rise in coronavirus cases.

The country will be under “red-zone” restrictions over the public holidays, with non-essential shops, restaurants and bars closed, and Italians only allowed to travel for work, health and emergency reasons. More information.

Israel

Foreign nationals are not permitted to enter Israel unless they are citizens or residents of Israel. Limited exceptions do apply. Passengers should submit requests for permission to enter Israel to the Israeli Embassy.

From 20 December, all countries will be considered ‘red’ with all travellers required to complete a 14 day self-isolation. This may be shortened to 10 days upon the completion of two negative coronavirus tests (one upon arrival and one after 9 days of self-isolation).

Israeli passengers landing from “Green Countries” are not be required to quarantine for 14 days. More information.

Ireland

Ireland is implementing the new EU ‘traffic lights’ approach to travel, which applies to countries in the EU / EEA (+ UK).

Passengers should fill out the Passenger locator form during the 48 hours prior to their arrival in the country.

In line with the EU traffic lights approach, the request to restrict movements does not apply to travellers from green regions, or those arriving from Northern Ireland.

Currently, all passengers entering Ireland from orange, red, and grey regions are requested to restrict their movements for 14 days. This period of restricted movement can end if you receive a negative/’not detected’ result of a PCR test that has been taken a minimum of five days after your arrival in Ireland. You should wait for your negative test result to be returned before ending the period of restricted movements.

Iceland

All arriving passengers must choose between a 14-day long quarantine and a double testing procedure along with a quarantine for 5-6 days.

The double border-screening procedure requires all passengers arriving in Iceland to undergo two Covid-19 tests: one upon arrival and another 5-6 days later.

The Covid-19 screening at the border is free of charge from December 1st to January 31st.

Passengers are required to fill out a pre-registration form before departure to Iceland , which requires to provide personal details and contact information, flight information, travel dates, address(es) during their stay in Iceland and information on countries they have visited before arrival. Passengers are also encouraged to download and use the COVID-19 app Rakning C-19, which contains important information on COVID-19 and how to contact the health care service in Iceland. Hungary

Entry from EU Member States + Schengen Associated countries is not allowed without a special reason. Citizens of Czechia, Poland and Slovakia are allowed to enter Hungary if they show a negative Covid-19 test no older than five days.

Hungarian citizens returning from abroad are obliged to stay in home quarantine for 10 days from the date of entry. Passengers returning home may be exempted from quarantine if they provide a certificate containing the negative results of two SARS-CoV-2 molecular tests performed in Hungary at two different times, with at least 48 hours between them. The first of the two tests may also be performed in one of the Schengen countries, the United States of America or Canada.

Hungarian citizens may return home from abroad without restrictions if the reason for the trip was a business or economic activity which the Hungarian citizen is able to credibly attest, upon return to Hungary.

Greece

All passengers traveling to Greece from foreign countries are required to have a negative molecular test result (PCR) for Covid-19, performed up to 72 hours before their entry to Greece. This includes air and land arrivals to Greece.

The certificate should be written in English and include name and passport number or national identification number of the traveller.

All travelers to Greece, irrespective of nationality and means of transportation to enter the country have to fill out the electronic PLF via https://travel.gov.gr and provide their points of contact in Greece the latest by the previous day of their arrival. The proof of completion of e-PLF (automatically sent by the system to the passenger- QR code) is considered to be a mandatory travel document which is required to enter the country. Passengers must be able to present the confirmation of filled PLF (QR code) before the flight. Otherwise, passenger won’t be able to board the flight. One PLF should be submitted per family. Germany

All travellers who have stayed in a risk area within the last 10 days before entering Germany and who do not meet one of the designated exceptions (cf. no. 2 of section I of the orders) have to fill in the digital entry registration form. Filling this form is mandatory.

Travellers entering the Federal Republic of Germany, who have been in a risk area at any time within the last 14 days before entry, are obliged to self-isolate in accordance with the testing and quarantine regulations obligations of the competent Federal State. More information.

Georgia

The state border of Georgia is open to 5 countries (Germany, France, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania) out of 27 EU member states, on the condition that upon arrival to Georgia citizens of this country submit a PCR test result taken within the last 72 hours, or undergo PCR testing at their own expense in a laboratory located at the airport.

Citizens / persons with permanent residence permits of the above 5 countries may arrive in Georgia for all types of visits only by air, in case of departure from the listed 5 countries.

Before crossing the Georgian border, travellers must fill in a special electronic form, which was promptly created by the Government of Georgia.

Most foreign arrivals will be placed in mandatory 8-day quarantine, followed by an antigen rapid test. If the antigen test is inconclusive, it will be followed by a PCR. If this test is negative, you will be able to leave quarantine but will have to take another PCR test on the 12th day. Those on an approved business permit have the option to take a PCR test every 72 hours instead of quarantine. Tests and quarantine will be at your own expense. More information here and here

France

Travelling from EU Member States + Schengen Associated countries to Metropolitan France is allowed without restrictions.

Travellers coming from other countries are encouraged to have a negative Covid-19 test before they arrive in France. Those without a negative test will be presented with information upon their arrival in France about the conditions for carrying out a 7-day quarantine at a location of their choice or, where appropriate, in special accommodation. They will be informed of the possibilities for carrying out a test at the airport and in France.

Symptomatic travellers during border health checks should be subject to quarantine, regardless of their nationality.

Finland

Entry into Finland will be admitted if proved by necessary and justified reason, only essential travel is permitted.

For traffic between Finland and all EU Member States and Schengen Associated countries internal border control is reintroduced from 23.11.2020 onwards. Entry restrictions for Finland are detailed on the Finnish Border Guard website and on the website of the Finish government.

It is also recommended that travellers who do not live in Finland take a COVID-19 test less than 72 hours before arriving in Finland. A second test can be taken in Finland no earlier than 72 hours after arriving in Finland. Between the tests, self-isolation at the place of accommodation is recommended.

People living in Sweden and Estonia may come to work in Finland without a self-isolation period or testing. More information.
